Strait definitely outdid himself during his closing performance on the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. With a whopping 80,108 fans in attendance for the performance at NRG Stadium, Strait had surpassed the venue’s previous record of the stadium, which was 80,020. This was also a record that was set by the King of Country in 2013.

The Sweetest “God and Country Music” Duet

Strait’s Houston Rodeo-closing performance on Sunday night, the 17th of March, was indeed special. His grandson, Harvey Strait, jumped on stage to help perform ‘God and Country Music.’

The crowd gave the 6-year-old a hearty welcome as his grandfather proudly introduced him. Elder Strait was enthusiastic in introducing him to sing the song with him.

The sweetest country duo performed ‘God and Country Music,’ a track that appears on Strait’s new album Honky Tonk Time Machine. It drops on the 29th of March.
