God is a Woman

Danielle Bradbery kicks off her “Yours Truly: 2018” project with a strong start. She released a beautiful cover of Ariana Grande’s “God is a Woman.” She really took her time to revamp the song into her own identity. And she did it without losing the core of the Grande hit. Here, she transforms “God is a Woman” into a more subdued, almost country-soul vibe that perfectly suits her and her dainty voice.

The Original

The Grande hit was originally released on the 13th of July, 2018 and it served as the second single from her hit studio album “Sweetener.” The original is a more fast-paced pop song that skyrocketed to number eleven in Billboard upon its release.

Yours Truly: 2018

As part of a personal project, Bradbery plans on releasing three songs over the next three weeks. She said that these songs would have to be her favorite top songs of 2018. She expressed her feelings of inspiration from different songs of different genres in an interview that she gave Billboard:

“I grew up listening to all kinds of music from country to R&B and hip-hop, even Hispanic music with my mom’s side of the family, and all of those influences have impacted my own art. Incredible music was released across all genres this year, so I wanted to mark this moment in time with my own versions of some of my favorites. I can’t wait for everyone to hear my take on these songs.”

-Danielle Bradbery

She released an awesome version of Kacey Musgrave’s smash hit “Slow Burn.” Bradbery plans on releasing her final song of the project on the 4th of January. The song is Post Malone’s “Psycho.”

With those two jaw-dropping covers, we are all anticipating the third is going to be absolutely brilliant.
