Only Morgan Wallen could turn three billion-stream plaques into a redneck masterpiece on wheels.
While most artists hang their Spotify Billions Club awards in a sleek hallway next to a Grammy or two, Morgan Wallen had a different kind of trophy display in mind. When Spotify surprised him with three shiny new plaques for “Whiskey Glasses,” “Last Night,” and “I Had Some Help,” the Sneedville native grabbed a handful of zip ties and turned his ATV into the most country-certified ride on the planet.
It might not be what Spotify’s design team imagined, but it sure looks good spinning in the Tennessee mud.
To be fair, Wallen earned the right to have a little fun. “Whiskey Glasses” was the song that put him on the national map, and he is still riding that momentum years later. The track became a breakout hit early in his career and carried that mix of heartbreak and swagger that has since become his signature. In a recent Spotify Billions Club interview, Wallen called it the song that shifted everything. He said, “Everything about it just stuck with me. I will forever be so grateful for that song and the response to it.”
Then came “Last Night,” the song that did not just blow up but detonated every chart it touched. Released in 2023, it climbed faster than anything he had released before and quickly became one of the most-streamed songs of the decade. Wallen knew from the moment they laid it down in the studio that it was something different. He joked, “It was just up to us not to screw it up too bad.” Good thing they did not.
The third plaque came courtesy of “I Had Some Help,” his collaboration with Post Malone. That track mixed country grit with crossover ease and racked up over 1.3 billion streams. It proved once again that Wallen’s sound can stretch far beyond Nashville without losing its soul.
So when Spotify handed him those three platinum-colored plaques, Wallen could have done the expected and thrown them on a shelf. Instead, he zip-tied them to the wheels of his four-wheeler and took it for a spin. One problem, though, was that four wheels needed four plaques. So he laughed and told his team to bring him another one next time they dropped by unannounced.
And odds are, he will get his wish soon enough.
With “Wasted On You” and “You Proof” both approaching the billion-stream milestone, and tracks like “Chasin’ You” and “Thinkin’ Bout Me” not far behind, Wallen might need to start customizing his truck, too. At this rate, the man could outfit a whole fleet with Spotify-certified chrome.
Wallen’s Spotify takeover is no fluke. He has become the face of country music in the streaming age, and his numbers prove it. In 2023, he not only had the most-streamed country album but also the most-streamed song in the United States. His mix of country storytelling, trap beats, and heartfelt delivery has made him a powerhouse across genres. And with a blockbuster tour coming in 2026, it is clear he is not slowing down.
While critics might squint at his crossover moves or his ATV modifications, Wallen’s fans know what matters most. He writes what he lives, he plays it loud, and he celebrates in his own rowdy way. If that means using billion-stream plaques as hubcaps, then more power to him.
Because Morgan Wallen is not just breaking records. He is running them over on his way to the next one.
