Morgan Wallen is not just setting records anymore because he is rewriting the entire playbook of country music dominance.
In a moment that officially cements his place in the history books, Morgan Wallen has been named the highest certified country artist of all time by the Recording Industry Association of America. With a staggering 265.5 million units sold, including 239.5 million singles and 26 million albums, Wallen has officially passed modern heavyweights like Luke Combs and even longtime benchmarks set by Garth Brooks.
That total also places Wallen as the third most certified artist across all genres, sitting behind only Drake and Taylor Swift. It is a milestone that goes far beyond country music and puts him firmly in elite company across the entire music industry.
The numbers are not inflated by one viral moment or a single album run. They are backed by a catalog that continues to perform at an almost unreal pace. His fourth studio album, I’m the Problem, released in May 2025, is already certified four times Platinum. Twenty-two of its thirty-seven tracks have reached Gold status or higher, which speaks to just how deeply fans are engaging with the entire project rather than only the singles.
His previous albums, Dangerous, The Double Album, and One Thing at a Time, are now all nine times Platinum. Every track from those albums has earned RIAA certification, as has every song from his debut record, If I Know Me. Very few artists in any genre can say that their entire discography has reached that level of consumption.
When it comes to singles, Wallen has entered a tier that only a handful of artists will ever touch. He now holds five Diamond certified songs, meaning each has surpassed ten million units. “Whiskey Glasses” sits at thirteen times Platinum, while “Last Night” and “Wasted on You” are both certified twelve times Platinum. Add in “Chasin’ You” and his Diplo collaboration “Heartless,” and the picture becomes even clearer. These songs did not just dominate country radio. They became cultural staples.
RIAA Chairman and CEO Mitch Glazier summed it up by saying that Wallen’s rise has been powered by deep fan connection, creative collaboration, and sustained momentum. He also noted that the volume of streaming behind this achievement shows how consistently audiences continue to show up for Wallen’s music year after year.
Earlier this year, the RIAA named Luke Combs the highest-selling country artist with 168 million units, a record that had previously belonged to Garth Brooks. That title did not last long. Wallen surpassed it by nearly one hundred million units, a gap that underscores just how massive his reach has become in the modern era.
With his Still the Problem Tour set to launch in 2026 and stadiums already filling up, this milestone feels less like a finish line and more like another marker on an ongoing climb. Morgan Wallen is not slowing down, and the numbers suggest he is still building something even bigger.
Country music has seen plenty of legends, but history now shows that Morgan Wallen sits at the very top when it comes to sales, impact, and staying power.
