UPDATE: Joe Diffie died Sunday from complications of coronavirus.

Country singer Joe Diffie, through his publicist, has stated that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

“I am under the care of medical professionals and currently receiving treatment. My family and I are asking for privacy at this time. We want to remind the public and all my fans to be vigilant, cautious, and careful during this pandemic,” Diffie said.

Joe Diffie, 61, is best known for “John Deere Green,” “Pickup Man,” “Third Rock From the Sun” and more of the country hits of the 1990s. He plans to release his first new album in seven years, “I Got This.”

Joe Diffie has a reputation for his outstanding songwriting. He’s written hit songs for Country Stars, including Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina, Hank Thompson, and Conway Twitty. He started his music career with a gospel band. Joe’s parents say he started singing at the age of three.

Diffie had postponed a concert in Georgia earlier this month because of worries about coronavirus.
