These two country icons sang a great duet with their chart-topping track Meet Me in Montana.” Both Marie Osmond and Dan Seals did not really have the time to record this because of their busy schedules.

It would have been a major loss for the country music if these two did not push through recording it. Fortunately, we are able to listen to this great duet from Seals and Osmond.

Marie Osmond and Dan Seals’ One Great Duet

This was the only duet by Osmond and Seals. However, they made sure that their one-time collaboration made an impact, as their song topped the country charts back in 1985. The track was written by country singer Paul Davis, but he pitched it to another artist first before giving it to Marie and Dan.

This was the first hit for Dan Seals and the second one for Marie Osmond. Her first one was “Paper Roses” which topped the charts back in 1973. A year later after the release of the track, their performance earned Vocal Duo of the Year by the Country Music Association.

Go Your Own Way

The major theme of the song is about finding your own place in this world. The two lovers were challenged in their relationship when an opportunity came knocking on their door. One wanted to be a country singer while the other one wanted to be an actress. They had to sacrifice whatever is going on with them for their dreams and hopes of making it into the showbiz industry.

What’s great about the track was the conclusion to their story. When both of their careers did not pan, they knew that they could go back to each other. Their best hope for a brighter future is to be together in Montana where it all started. They may have not been successful with their chosen careers but they were able to continue their relationship. That is the great thing about failures, we can learn from it and make sure that we do better the next time life throws something at us.
