Billy Ray Cyrus claims estranged wife, Firerose, has verbally, emotionally, and physically abused him during their seven-month marriage. The claims came about after Firerose filed a response to Cyrus’ divorce filing on June 14 in Williamson County, Tennessee, that accuses him of ‘extreme verbal, emotional and psychological abuse.’

Cyrus responded with new court documents in Tennessee on June 24, vehemently denying Firerose’s allegations and calling them “mind blogging.” His lawyers admitted that he was “certainly vocal, frustrated, and angry” before the divorce filing but was never abusive.

“Defendant’s allegations of abuse were only made to sensationalize her false complaints by using the word abuse,” Cyrus’ lawyers responded. “It is the plaintiff who, in fact, has been abused. Not only verbally and emotionally by the defendant, but PHYSICALLY by the Defendant.”

In an affidavit, Cyrus’ manager, Scott Adkins, claimed he witnessed Firerose abusing Cyrus. Adkins described a situation in which she would “speak disrespectfully, acting out of control towards Mr. Cyrus.”

Adkins recalls that he secured an invitation for Cyrus to join Nicki Minaj to sing “Old Town Road” at the Bridgestone Arena in March. “Firerose inserted herself and began getting defensive that Mr. Cyrus would even consider the offer because she would not have a significant role,” Adkins stated. He claimed that Cyrus called him to say Firerose was “hitting him again” that time but refused to call the police because he had locked himself in a cabin next to his house.

In a statement obtained by People Magazine, weeks after Billy Cyrus filed for divorce from Firerose, a representative of Firerose complained that “The accumulation of years of verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse, combined with the fact that Husband has had a direct hand in restricting Wife’s access to income and future opportunities, Wife has developed severe emotional distress from Husband’s actions.”

The statement continued, “Wife has had to seek psychological treatment from her therapist for emergency sessions on more than one occasion.”

Firerose’s representatives told Us Weekly, “Billy Ray’s story keeps evolving, and this filing is simply another abusive tactic to distract away from the serious, true allegations brought against him, backed by an abundance of evidence. The only individuals supporting his false claims are those on his payroll, whose credibility is questionable.”
