Chris Stapleton Received Rare Accolade of ACM Triple Crown Honor

Chris Stapleton won big during the 2023 ACM Honors broadcasted on Fox on the evening of September 18, 2023. The “Tennessee Whiskey” singer was present at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium on Lower Broadway to receive the honor for the ACM Triple Crown Award, which is somewhat challenging to win.

According to the Academy of Country Music Award, the Triple Crown Award is only given to artists who’ve previously won ACM Awards in all three of the following categories: New Artist, Male/Female Vocalist and Vocal Duo/Vocal Group, and Entertainer of the Year. For those that don’t know, these are just some of the impressive awards the country star has racked up throughout his career.

To honor Stapleton’s soulful music, powerhouse duo The War and Treaty appeared on stage to deliver an amazing performance of Stapleton’s Grammy award-winning tune, “Cold,” accompanied by a four-person orchestra. The duo (comprised of husband-and-wife tandem of Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter) then wrapped up their performance with a heartwarming message to congratulate Stapleton.

Country and bluegrass icon Marty Stuart took center stage. He delivered a stellar introduction of Chris Stapleton, who went on to accept his much-deserved award.

In his low-key speech during the ceremony, Stapleton thanked his wife Morgane, children, his entire team, friends, and, of course, the fans who have made this success possible.

“It’s a wonderful and rare thing to get to something that you love so much for a living,” the country star said in his speech. 

Chris Stapleton has now joined an esteemed group of country artists who received the ACM Triple Crown Award, which includes Carrie Underwood, Mickey Gilley, Miranda Lambert, Merle Haggard, Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, and Kenny Chesney.
