Trace Adkins & Daughter Create Memories in “Just Fishin’”

While everyone knows that Trace Adkins is popularly considered as one of country music’s “bad boys,” this Louisiana native actually has a soft spot. True enough, looks could be deceiving, and by this, Adkins’ countenance does not stand a chance.

He might be an image of strength, toughness, and “no cry” guy but he is actually a man with a soft heart. Well, especially for his family. No one else can bring out his softer side except for his daughters, who he admittedly loves the most. In fact, he has released a song that shows his strong bond with his youngest daughter. The song is called “Just Fishin’.”

Sweet Memories in “Just Fishin’”

Released on March 21, 2011, “Just Fishin’” is Trace Adkins’ song that narrates about a father who goes fishing with his daughter. The daughter, on the other hand, thinks that they are just having fun. But, more than the fun of fishing together, that particular moment means so much more to the father. It is very evident in the lyrics of the song that goes:

She ain’t even thinkin’ ’bout
What’s really goin’ on right now
But I guarantee this memory’s a big’in
And she thinks we’re just fishin’.

The message of the song simply resonated with Adkins’ fans. Many were touched and moved by it, especially with its message that is true-to-life. With the audience’s favorable receptions, “Just Fishin’” went on to claim the number six spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Meanwhile, it clinched the nine spot on the year-end charts in 2011.

Moreover, the song earned Adkins a Grammy nomination for Best Country Song. Truly, it is proof that the song was indeed powerful in moving the audience to tears.

The Music Video

Directed by Trey Fanjoy, “Just Fishin’s” music video added a flavor to the message of the song. In addition, it shared a more personal touch to Adkins’ portrayal of the song.

Furthermore, the video featured Adkins and his youngest daughter, Trinity. It was shot on his farm, and they can be seen fishing and making sweet father-daughter memories.

Undeniably, you can see and say that Adkins is an amazing father to his children and family. Additionally, he’s a great role model to the society nowadays.
