The Top 10 Most Played Country Artists on Radio in 2025 Is Out and It’s Not the List Anyone Expected This Year

Post Malone and Blake Shelton performing together, a snapshot of the country crossover energy reshaping radio’s top 10 in 2025.

Nobody saw this list coming.

Country radio just dropped the top 10 most-played artists of 2025, and let’s just say it doesn’t line up with what fans are blasting on TikTok, streaming playlists, or in the parking lot before a show. Morgan Wallen still owns the crown, but the rest of the names? A mix of surprises, head-scratchers, and a couple legends who refuse to step aside.

According to U.S. Radio Updater (and first pointed out by Whiskey Riff), Wallen is the most-played artist on radio this year, with “Love Somebody” clocking in as the most-spun track in the country. He even has a second single, “I’m The Problem,” sitting at #5. The man doesn’t just chart, he clogs the pipes.

The full top 10 most-played country artists right now looks like this:

  1. Morgan Wallen
  2. Jelly Roll
  3. Luke Combs
  4. Jason Aldean
  5. Post Malone
  6. Luke Bryan
  7. Sam Hunt
  8. Jordan Davis
  9. Bailey Zimmerman
  10. Blake Shelton

Take a second and let that sink in. Post Malone already in the top five. Blake Shelton still hanging around. Sam Hunt refusing to go away. And Koe Wetzel sneaking onto the songs list with Jessie Murph on “High Road.” Country radio really is its own planet.

The songs list feels just as out of touch with what fans are actually sharing online. “Hometown Home” by LOCASH somehow sits at #4. Sam Hunt cracked the top 10 artists even though he’s been fading hard on streaming. As Whiskey Riff put it, “you have a list that seems quite out of touch.” They aren’t wrong. This isn’t the barroom playlist anyone’s bragging about.

But here’s the thing. Radio may not control the pulse like it did twenty years ago, but it still says something about who’s got industry weight. And if this list proves anything, it’s that Morgan Wallen is untouchable right now. Eleven weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 with I’m The Problem. Thirty-seven songs charting at once on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year. First artist ever to take three albums to #1 for ten weeks apiece. And he’s selling out stadiums every single night on tour. You don’t have to like him, but you can’t pretend he’s not king of the mountain.

Jelly Roll sitting at #2 makes sense, too. The man has been America’s underdog voice, crossing lines between outlaw grit and mainstream anthems, with fans showing up for him like he’s family. Luke Combs at #3 isn’t a shocker either. He’s the closest thing country has to an everyman superstar since George Strait.

Jason Aldean still being up there? That’s where some fans roll their eyes. Luke Bryan and Sam Hunt, too. These names still get radio love even while younger artists and women in country are fighting for scraps of airplay. Streaming numbers tell a different story, but radio clings to its safe bets.

The wild card is Post Malone. Just a year into his country crossover and already in the top five. His duet “Pour Me A Drink” with Blake Shelton landed in the most-played songs list, too. It’s proof Nashville isn’t just tolerating him. They’re betting on him.

So yeah, the radio list doesn’t look like Spotify’s Top Country or TikTok’s breakout stars. It’s safer. It’s slower to change. But it still shapes what casual listeners hear in their trucks every morning. And like it or not, Morgan Wallen is the guy running that soundtrack in 2025.

Radio might feel like it’s fading, but this year’s list shows one thing loud and clear: the industry still has its favorites. Some of them make sense. Some of them don’t. But country fans know the truth. Real momentum isn’t built on radio spins anymore. It’s built in stadiums, honky-tonks, and on every phone in America.

Morgan Wallen owns those, too.
