“Buy Dirt,” a collaboration song between Jordan Davis and Luke Bryan, won the Song of the Year at the CMA Awards 2022. It bested four other impressive song nominations, including Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde’s “Never Wanted to Be That Girl,” Morgan Wallen’s “Sand in My Boots,” Lainey Wilson’s “Things a Man Oughta Know,” and Chris Stapleton’s “You Should Probably Leave.” The trophy was awarded to the songwriters, namely the Davis brothers, Jacob and Jordan himself, and the Jenkins brothers, Josh and Matt. Producer Paul DiGiovanni also made his way to the stage.

After accepting the award from country music icon Reba McEntire and boyfriend actor Rex Linn, Jordan told the crowd that he wasn’t expecting it. He also added that writing a song about faith and family – ‘if that’s not country music, I don’t know what is!’.

The singer also invited the 2022 CMA Awards night co-host Luke Bryan to come up on stage. Bryan ran up, joined him, and kissed Jordan on the cheeks before announcing the next performing act.

“Buy Dirt” became an instant fan-favorite and number-one hit on the charts. Jordan Davis took a chance on this collaboration, and when it did happen, it did so with so much success.

The 56th annual CMA Awards was hosted live by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. You can listen to this year’s CMA Song of the Year, “Buy Dirt” by Jordan Davis and Luke Bryan, in the music video below.
