Eileen Regina Awards also known as “Shania Twain” was born in Windsor, Ontario. Twain’s parents were Sharon and Clarence Edwards. She has two sisters.  Her parents divorced when she was two years of age. Further, Sharon married Jerry Twain. Jerry Twain adopted Sharon’s daughters and legally changed their family name to Twain.

Twain’s childhood was heartbreaking. Her mother and stepfather’s relationship was so stormy. She even witnessed violence between them. Her mother sent them to Toronto homeless shelter for assistance because she can no longer feed them. But Sharon returned to Twain in 1981.

At the age of eight, Twain started singing at bars to help her family financially. She sang her first song  “Just Like the Storybooks” when she was ten years old.

At the age of thirteen, Twain was invited to showcase her talent in singing on CBC’s Tonny Hunter Show. She was also the singer on a local band called Longshot which covered Top 40 music.

In 1984, her talents were noticed by Toronto DJ Stan Campbell and wrote her an article. Twain has already sold over 100 million records. She is also one of the best-selling female artists in country music history and best-selling music artist of all time.

“You’re Still the One”

The song was written and recorded by Shania Twain and Mutt Lange. Lange produced the song. The song was released in January 1998.

“You’re Still the One” is a song inspired by media criticism between Twain and Lange relationship. They criticized their age difference. According to critics, Twain only uses Lange to advance her career and that their relationship wouldn’t last forever. But, Twain showed the public that they were wrong and it led to his re-writing. She showed how happy they are as a couple. Unfortunately, in 2008, after 14 years of marriage, Lang & Twain divorced due to an affair between Twain and his best friend.

This song is also recognized as Twain’s most successful single and one of the most successful on country radio.
