“Long Black Train” abetted Josh Turner to prominence back in 2001. The time when he first performed the song at Grand Ole Opry. Since then, the song became his signature song. Despite not topping the chart, the song was the key to Turner’s dream to become successful in the country music scene. Nevertheless, he conquered the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with his top charting singles such as “Your Man,” “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” and many more. But the most successful of them all would be the song “Time Is Love.” In fact, it became 2012’s country song of the year.

It has been deliberated, “Time Is Love” shouldn’t have grabbed the title since it has never placed No.1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and it only peaked at No.2. At that time, the No.1 song was “Pontoon” by Little Big Town. Nonetheless, for whatever reason, Billboard magazine selected and indicated that Turner’s song was the country song of the year. Perhaps, the title doesn’t rely on some sales, rank on the chart or even the popularity of the song. It may have been based on something else. So, for the Josh Turner believers out there, we’re glad Billboard has chosen the right one.

Time Is Love…

Tony Martin, Mark Nesler, and Tom Shapiro are the songwriters behind the words and lyrics of “Time Is Love.” It was released in January 2012 and was part of Turner’s album “Punching Bag.”

Furthermore, the song merely means the time would be much better spent at home with the person he loves in his heart cause it’s time for romance.

Finally, in 2006, after years of creating songs, Turner placed his very first number one single on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart which is called “Your Man.” The single was certified Gold by RIAA, and it was documented to sell over 1,307,000 in the United States.
