First of all, What is a family for you? For me, a family starts at home. Some families are composed of a father, mother, and children while others have a single parent and their children. Moreover, some children are raised by both parents while others were raised by a single parent. Nowadays, you are lucky enough if you grew up having a complete family because not everyone has that.

On the other hand, if you were raised by a single parent do not be ashamed to show the world what you have. The mere fact that there is someone who loves you is the most precious gift that God has sent you. So without further adieu, listen to this song called “I Loved Her First” by Heartland. It will show you about a father’s love for his child.

It is a song recorded by American country band Heartland and was written by American songwriter Walt Aldridge and Elliott Park. It was released in June 2006 as a single from the Heartland’s album, I Loved Her First.

Upon its release, the song entered the country chart and topped the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs.

From its title, “I Loved Her First,” you could already visualize what the song talks about. The song shows us that the man who loved us first besides God is our father.

By the way, what is a good father for you?

For me, the definition of a good father is someone who has the capacity to protect and love his children more than himself. A father gives his best effort to provide the needs and wants of his family. Moreover, he does not only think of himself rather, he thinks of his family. A father would do everything to protect his family from harm.

“I Loved Her First” is a song dedicated by the narrator to a man who is about to marry his daughter. As a father, it is hard to give away his daughter because they do not want their daughter to be in danger.
