The 11th annual Faster Horses Festival is giddying up at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan, for another three days of prime live summer country music from July 19-21, 2024.

Cowboys and cowgirls are in for a heavy-hitting weekend anchored by three of the hottest country names: Louisiana native and hit singer-songwriter HARDY, the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, Lainey Wilson, who’s also becoming a favorite collaborator, and rapper-turned-country musician Jelly Roll, who has been padding his resume with more number-ones and trophies. Accompanying them are Riley Green, Old Dominion, Cody Johnson, and more insanely talented artists.

Last year, the festival welcomed onstage a star-studded cast led by Shania Twain, Zac Brown Band, and Luke Bryan. They kicked off with a drone show lighting for the tenth anniversary milestone and wrapped up with Twain doing her first-ever live performance of “Party for Two” with Billy Currington and playing fan-favorite hits, including her closing performance “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” in her original music video outfit.

And rest assured that it’s going to be another exciting year.

Aside from the performances, there are a lot of activities that are returning, like Maverick Beach, a volleyball beach game, Line Dancing, and the Hustle & Muscle classic car show. On July 20, they’ll be hosting the 8th annual Fun Run called Faster Humans, which is free, but you can opt to donate to support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (ASFP) Michigan’s mission.

They also recently announced that Jelly Roll’s food truck, Rollin w/ Jelly, will serve the famous Jelly Roll donut, Jelly Nade, and Nashville hot chicken tenders! You won’t want to miss that.

Festival Essentials & Insider Tips

The first Faster Horses sped out of the gate in 2013, and it has since grown a following of country music fans and lovers. Just last year, they pulled in 40,000 spectators.

And for this year, tickets are already selling out, so snag yours while they’re still available. The VIP Tack Room is already sold out, but there are two (2) more VIP sections with slots: VIP Meadow – Ground Level Access Only ($459) and VIP Tack Room Reserved ($785). As for General Admission, there’s the GA ($289) and GA 4-Pack Bundle plus Campsite ($999). Children 6 and under are free in GA! But if you’re hanging out with friends, organizers recommend the Mustang Suite, a private space atop the Tack Room VIP Deck, with a full-service bar featuring a premium selection of beer, wine, and spirits for purchase.

There are no single-day passes for purchase. Once you receive your wristband, make sure to register it. Not only will it provide a secure, hassle-free payment option, but it will also give you presale access for 2025!

For accommodations, there’s a wide variety of options. But again, you need to get yours NOW, or you might lose spots you like. Here are what’s left that you can purchase: Brookfest Acres ($269), Brooklyn Trails ($259), Glamping ($1,695 – $1,745), Graves Farm – 50 & 30 amp ($735), Green Acres ($275), Infield City Tent ($269), Irish Hills – 50 amp ($2,075 – $2,575), and Turn 2 Retreat -50 amp ($1,035). There’s a shuttle service to and from the campground for free for the whole weekend from 11 a.m. to 12 midnight.

And here’s a tip from the alumni goers: aside from hydrating regularly and keeping some booze to share with your neighbors, rent your own portable restroom. For advance booking, call 517-317-8600. Service vendors will be available for pump-outs during the event, and it’s a cash-only payment.

But, of course, you can opt to book your own room at nearby hotels.

For the event itself, there’s a small – 12”x 6”x 12” or smaller – clear bag policy. Make sure you’re also dressed to impress. To make the party even more fun, they’ve designated festival-fit themes for each day. It’s a chance to dress to impress! For Friday, it’s Neon Cowboy — From Broadway to Brooklyn, Let’s Glow! Saturday’s going retro with The 70’s theme, Pace, Love & Faster Horses. And for Sunday, come in your best rockstar gear and go all out as Rockstar Rodeo.

You can reenter the festival anytime, but if you need anything, you can visit The Corrigan Infield Store and Brooklyn Trails Store.

Festival gates open at 1 p.m. Parking ($65 for general, $155 for VIP) is available for the weekend.
