Looks like 2024 is beginning to be the year of Lainey Wilson! At the 66th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 4), the fast-rising country superstar secured the top country accolade of the night – and it’s none other than the Best Country Album.

Wilson’s Bell Bottom Country clinched victory in a highly competitive category of nominees, which includes Rolling Up the Welcome Mat by Kelsea Ballerini, Rustin’ In the Rain by Tyler Childers, as well as the respective self-titled albums by Brothers Osbourne and Zach Bryan.

This is Wilson’s first victory at the Grammys.

The Northeast Louisiana native also earned a nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance with “Save Me” alongside Jelly Roll. Unfortunately, they didn’t win, as the award went to Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves for “I Remember Everything.”

She Delivered A Heartfelt And Emotional Acceptance Speech

During the live broadcast, fellow country star Kacey Musgraves had the privilege of presenting the award for Best Country Album to Lainey Wilson.

Wilson then took the stage to receive it. She donned an all-black outfit from the Balmain SS24 collection, comprising a tuxedo blazer, her signature bellbottoms, and a stylish hat. The country star’s overall look was said to be inspired by country legend Johnny Cash.

Sure thing, her first-ever Grammys acceptance speech was filled with emotion – calling the moment “absolutely wild.”

She then went on to thank her collaborators, co-writers, and musicians who contributed to her album, Bell Bottom Country. Wilson also looked back to the “farming community in northeast Louisiana, a little town of 200 people,” where she grew up as a “fifth-generation farmer’s daughter.”

“And sometimes, when you find the right farming community, you can have a harvest of a lifetime,” Wilson said in her speech. “I truly believe that, and I think that’s exactly what this is tonight.”

The “Watermelon Moonshine” singer ended her speech thanking Jesus, the Recording Academy, and, of course, her fans.

Sending our congratulations to our favorite country star, Lainey Wilson, on winning her first Grammy Award! Well-deserved success!
