Long before Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina became country superstars and hitmakers they are today, the two talented artists were just teenagers competing for the title of the next American Idol winner during the famous finale of Season 10 in 2011.

While they may be pitting against each other, they’ve created one of the best duets – and it’s no other than the 1988 classic hit “I Told You So” by one of country music’s greatest singers, Randy Travis.

Sitting on barstools, McCreery and Alaina found themselves serenading each other, blending their country voices together perfectly and impeccably – you could say it was a match made in heaven. They brought a whole new sound to the iconic hit and individually tackled it into two heart-melting parts that are sure to leave you breathless. 

The two not only blew the audience away, but they gained a massive following hailing them as the next Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn.

Indeed, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina proved their own abilities as artists as early as they were only teenagers. While it was McCreery who managed to take home the Idol title that year, both of them went on to find remarkable heights of success on their own.

Lauren Alaina is up with a new album, Sitting Pretty on Top of the World, which helped her through the depression she experienced as the coronavirus pandemic was getting out of hand. McCreery, on the other hand, never ceases in capturing the country fans’ hearts and is releasing brand-new songs from his latest album, “Same Truck.”
