The country music community gathered last Sunday (May 15) at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium for a star-studded tribute to the matriarch of Grammy-winning duo The Judds. It was called Naomi Judd: A River Of Time Celebration, which aired live and commercial-free on CMT.

As one half of The Judds, Wynonna Judd took the stage dressed in all black – surrounded by more than 1,200 roses – to deliver an emotional yet heartfelt tribute to her mother. She performed three songs, beginning with “River of Time,” which Naomi co-wrote herself. Her performance was introduced by none other than her younger sister, actress Ashley Judd.

One of the event’s highlights happened in the last minutes of the celebration! Wynonna Judd revealed her plans to continue the ten concert dates that she and her mother had previously announced as a part of the Judds’ 2022 Final Tour.

“The show must go on,” Wynonna addressed the audience, revealing her plans after so much thought. “As hard as it may be, we will show up together. You will carry me, as you carried me for 38 years.”

The Judds announced their final tour in April, which was set to be the mother-and-daughter duo’s first tour in more than a decade. The tour is set to kick off on September 30 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is slated to consist of ten stops, wrapping up in October at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. It will also feature Martina McBride as the special guest. However, it is not yet clear if the recently announced tour will affect the original schedule.

Well, we say there’s no better way to honor Naomi Judd’s legacy.
