Elvis Presley recorded the song “Take My Hand, Precious Lord.” It was released in October 1957 as a single from his album, Elvis’ Christmas Album. This album consists of six Christmas songs, two traditional Christmas carols, and four gospel songs.
Upon its release, the album ranked number three on the Pop albums chart and reached number thirty-nine on the singles chart. It also became number one on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart for four consecutive weeks. Moreover, according to the RIAA, the album had sold millions of copies in the United States becoming as the best selling Christmas album of all time.
