Keep scrolling below to check out the greatest patriotic country songs of all time, and gently listen through these tracks to celebrate all the things you love about America.

1. God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood

On top of the list is one of the uplifting patriotic country songs to celebrate American freedom – “God Bless the USA,” also known as “Proud to Be an American.” The song tells the story of a man celebrating guaranteed freedom in the country. It’s all thanks to the men and women in history who died to secure this liberty.

2. Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly by Aaron Tippin

Here’s a country song with a theme that centers on a man’s unwavering American pride. Tippin co-wrote the song alongside Kenny Beard and Casey Beathard off his 2000 album People Like Us. However, it failed to make the cut. A year later, he concluded the song “had a bigger purpose” and recorded it two days after the September 11 attacks.

3. Courtesy Of The Red, White, And Blue (The Angry American) by Toby Keith

Toby Keith has released several heartwarming patriotic country songs to honor our troops, but this track stood out the most. Keith wrote and recorded the song in late 2001 following the September 11 attacks and his father’s death. This veteran taught the singer how precious our freedom is.

“I was so angry when we were attacked here on American soil that it leaked out of me,” Keith said about the song.

4. In America by Charlie Daniels Band

Here’s one if you’re looking for classic patriotic country songs to inspire national pride. “In America” was written by the Charlie Daniels Band in 1980. It was a reaction to America’s many challenging issues, such as the Watergate scandal and unemployment. But despite these problems, the song described America as one country that could overcome any obstacles.

5. American Soldier by Toby Keith

There’s no shortage of patriotic songs in the Oklahoma singer’s repertoire. Keith wrote “American Soldier,” inspired by all the times he gets to meet the US troops during his USO tours and to show his support to our servicemen and women.

The song tells the story of a soldier headed to war, ready to serve his country.

6. Arlington by Trace Adkins

Trace Adkins isn’t just known for his amazing country music songs and signature deep vocals. As most fans know, he’s also a proud supporter of the US military. “Arlington” is one of the many tracks he released in honor of the men and women who serve and have served this country.

The meaningful ballad tells the story of a soldier buried at Arlington National Cemetery after getting killed in action.

7. Some Gave All by Billy Ray Cyrus

This song is perhaps one of the most emotional patriotic country songs about sacrifice and service. Billy Ray Cyrus wrote this military tribute song with his first wife, Cindy Smith, after they met a Vietnam veteran.

In 2011, he re-recorded the song with Jamey Johnson, who was also a member of the Marine Corps reserves for many years, and with Craig Morgan, a US Army veteran.

8. Only in America by Brooks & Dunn

“Only in America” stood above the top patriotic country songs about the American dream. It sings about the lives of different people all over the United States and how America allows people to dream as big as they want to. It swiftly became a patriotic pick-me-up after the September 11 attacks.

9. Ragged Old Flag by Johnny Cash

Johnny Cash showed his admiration for the American flag in this song he wrote for his 1974 album Ragged Old Flag. The country legend revealed that he wrote the song – which details why he is proud of the flag – to revive patriotism in America following the Watergate scandal.

10. American Heart by Faith Hill

Here’s one of the gospel-inspired patriotic country songs to inspire faith and hope. “American Heart,” tells the story of a woman who survived the life problems she encountered through her faith in the American dream. While the times are indeed tough, our spirit as Americans always seems to triumph.

11. American Flag on the Moon by Brad Paisley

Brad Paisley is encouraging the Americans to keep their dreams big, for the reason that “I mean, after all, there’s an American flag on the moon,” the song goes.

Paisley revealed that “American Flag on the Moon” was inspired by his conversation with his five-year-old son as they looked up at the sky.

12. Born In The USA by Bruce Springsteen

Born In The USA” is Bruce Springsteen’s biggest tip of the hat to Vietnam veterans. However, it is among the most misinterpreted songs, as many believed it was a patriotic anthem about American pride. However, it cast a shameful eye on how Vietnam veterans were treated badly upon their return to America after the Vietnam war. It was, after all, the first war the United States didn’t win.

13. God Bless America by Kate Smith

“God Bless America” dates back to 1918 during World War I but was revised and popularized by Kate Smith, referred to as The First Lady of Radio, during World War II in 1938.

The patriotic ballad takes the form of a prayer, asking God for His blessing and peace for the nation.

14. America The Beautiful by Ray Charles

Did you know many Americans think “America The Beautiful” should be the National Anthem? The patriotic song was originally written as a poem and was first published in 1895. It only became a song in 1926 and helped popularize the term “America,” which was rarely used in reference to the United States at the time.

15. Chicken Fried by Zac Brown Band

If you’re looking for patriotic country songs to sing along to at your next BBQ or party, then “Chicken Fried” is definitely what you’re looking for. It’s absolutely one of the most fun songs to sing along to as you celebrate the simple things in life.

Brown explained that he penned the patriotic anthem during the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, which inspired this track.

So, what do you think of this list of patriotic country songs? Pretty sure you’d be singing them all as you beam with so much country pride the next time you will celebrate the Fourth of July.
