Gayle King asked Riley Green the question his fans have been asking for years.
On CBS Mornings on Monday, Aug. 10, she wanted to know if he was single, and the 37-year-old answered with one word, “Yeah.”
So is Riley Green married? He is not, and he has never been publicly married. The Jacksonville, Alabama, native has spent 2026 busier than ever, with his acting debut as Garrett in the Yellowstone spinoff Marshals, his fourth album, That’s Just Me, out Sept. 18, and his first season as a coach on The Voice, which premiered Sept. 21 on NBC.
That one word answered the question for now. The rumors around him have always been harder to answer, because most of them started with a song.
Riley Green Went Public With Sophia Sansone in 2022, and Every Romance Rumor Since Has Gone Unconfirmed
The relationship fans know about was with music executive Sophia Sansone, the managing partner at Make Wake Artists and the manager who guided Luke Combs through his rise. The two walked the red carpet together at the 2022 CMT Awards, and Sansone has since said they were together on and off for about three years.
Then came Ella Langley. When their 2024 duet “You Look Like You Love Me” took off, fans decided the chemistry had to be real, and their second duet, “Don’t Mind If I Do,” only added to it. Langley said in September 2024 that they were just friends, and both have long said they never dated.
Green explained the whole thing at the end of 2025 on Westwood One’s Country Nights With Bev Rainey.
“Me and Ella have two giant songs together, and I think fans want to believe that what you’re singing about is real,” he said.
That line explains most of what has followed him since.
He brought social media influencer Bryana Ferringer to the CMA Awards in November 2025 and called her a friend the next month, explaining that he usually goes to award shows by himself or with a buddy, so he took a friend. The two were seen at a basketball game in February, but nothing more has come of it in public.
As he told Rainey, he finds out who he is dating weekly on social media.
Fans Believe Megan Moroney’s Cloud 9 Is About Riley Green, and He Answered With a Song the Same Day
The rumor that lasted longest began in December 2024, when fans noticed Green and Megan Moroney seemingly vacationing in St. Barts at the same time. Moroney told Rolling Stone a few months later that he was there with his own friends and that hanging out did not mean they were dating.
They were seen together again after the 2025 ACM Awards and in his Alabama hometown, though neither ever confirmed a relationship.
Moroney released her album Cloud 9 on Feb. 20, 2026, and fans went looking for him in it. They landed on “Who Hurt You,” and one line in particular.
“The devil went down to Georgia, then he crossed the Bama line,” she sang.
Georgia is Moroney’s home state, and Alabama is his. Before the album came out, she told Backstage Country the song said everything “bar for bar,” so she would not have to answer questions about it.

Green did not answer questions either. The same day Cloud 9 came out, he posted a song of his own on Instagram, playing guitar and singing to an unnamed ex who, by his telling, never liked his way of life.
“You hated my dog, I guess you hated my songs, hell, you hated it way out here,” he sang.
He never said who the song was about, and fans in the comments filled in the rest. For a man who says fans want songs to be real, he gave them one more to wonder about.
Riley Green Says His Career Has to Slow Down Before He Can Settle Down
When he talks about why he is still single, Green talks about his calendar. On This Past Weekend with Theo Von, he said it is really not that easy to meet a girl doing what he does, and he stays out of bars because he does not like being the center of attention when he is not supposed to be.
He has also pictured how that could change. In a couple of years, he has said, his career could level off to 40 or 60 shows a year, with maybe a TV show or a movie on the side, and then he could have a life outside of it.
The TV part arrived before the slower schedule, and he is already signed on to coach the revamped celebrity edition of The Voice in 2027.
He once told Billboard that he thinks about having a family a lot, but that at that point in his life he did not know how he could do it, and things would have to slow down and feel more normal before he could really think about settling down.
Marriage is still something he wants, and he has thought about what it would do to his music.
“It’s definitely something I’d like to do, and I’m somewhat excited about where my songwriting would go with that much of a change in my life, too,” he said.
