We’ve all known and loved Jelly Roll for his long, curly hair – which often flows out of the back of his hat and has been part of his overall signature look.

However, the “Son of a Sinner” surprised everyone when he shared that he is a long-haired country boy no more! Apparently, he bid farewell to his mullet and totally went through some massive hair transformation!

And much to our luck, Jelly Roll – whose real name is Jason DeFord – documented the significant occasion with a fun video and shared it on his social media account, wherein he walked everyone through the entire process.

Jelly Roll Revealed His New Haircut With Fans

Jelly Roll chronicled his massive hairstyle transformation in an Instagram video posted on Friday (June 30). He began the short clip with a question that could make one think seriously.

“You ever woke up and just felt like ‘f*** it?’ That’s exactly how I woke up feeling this morning,” the singer said. He then turned to his barber – who could be seen setting up his equipment – and asked, “Are you ready to cut this shit off or what?”

Of course, Jelly Roll’s wife Bunnie XO (who the singer calls his hair’s number one hater) was also there in all-out support. She assured him that she and “about five thousand other women” were just as excited about how beautiful Jelly Roll’s new look will be. At some point in the video, Bunnie XO can even be seen joining the barber and playfully snipping off a few locks of her husband.

In the caption, the singer expressed disbelief at his bold move, even wondering if he had made such a mistake. However, he also said the short video is about “acceptance.” While he still has a hard time believing, he has accepted that he has finally cut his curls – and there’s no longer anything he can do about it.

The clip concluded with Jelly Roll showing off his fresh cut. It then swiftly raked in hundreds of reactions, including one from country star Miranda Lambert, who wrote “Freshy” in the comment section.

Jelly Roll Does Not Only Have A New Look But A New Album, Too

In addition to Jelly Roll’s brand-new look, the singer also recently released his anticipated country debut album, Whitsitt Chapel – which he named after a church he grew up attending.

It features thirteen tracks Jelly Roll co-wrote himself, putting his songwriting prowess on display – this includes his recent single “Need A Favor,” as well as fan-favorites “She” and “Save Me.” It also finds him collaborating with industry heavyweights such as HARDY, Miranda Lambert, and Ashley McBryde, among others.

Jelly Roll said he wanted to create a project that felt hopeful, so he made an album centered around the “growth and gratitude” he has received in his life. “This is therapeutic music. Real music for real people with real problems,” he said about his latest project.

Clearly, the tracks resonated with many listeners as Whitsitt Chapel reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums while peaking at No. 3 on Billboard 200.

Well, we can’t wait for Jelly Roll to show off his new look as he performs one of his most recent songs.
