There is no doubt that many people will empathize with any song about alcohol. After all, the bulk of us uses alcohol as an escape from our own personal problems. That being said, Carrie Underwood’s song “Blown Away” is the perfect song for this topic.

The song was released back in 2012, and it was an instant smash. There is no doubt about that because the song focuses on the topic of drinking and how this so-called “drinking disease” can also rip families and good relationships apart.

The words and music video speak for themselves, and that’s maybe why many people can connect to it even while just listening.

Aside from the fact that the lyrics themselves struck differently, Carrie Underwood was also able to express the message properly through her distinct vocals. Chris Tompkins and Josh Kear, who also wrote some of the other Carrie Underwood’s hit songs, including “Before He Cheats,” wrote this song.

Because of its tremendous popularity and relevancy, the song has received two Grammys, one CMT award, and one American country award. Aside from that, it also charted, reaching no. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and no. 20 on the Hot 100 in the United States.

The song’s popularity also reached Canada as it also charted at no. 1 on the Canadian charts. In addition to that, despite not having a full release in the country, it also reached no. 155 in the United Kingdom. The single has also been awarded 4 platinum by the RIAA, while the titular album has been certified 3 platinum.

So, if you want to listen while reflecting on your actions, if you are one of the alcohol lovers out there, then “Blown Away” by Carrie Underwood is the perfect song for you. You can listen to the song right now by clicking here.
