George Strait may have kept his hands full being a modern-day troubadour driven by his passion to make music of the highest quality – but he has always been a devoted husband and family man first. He has built a beautiful life with his wife, Norma Strait, and his son Bubba.

In 2012, George Strait added another title to his belt. In addition to being King of Country, the singer celebrated becoming a first-time grandfather when Bubba and daughter-in-law Tamara welcomed their baby boy, George Harvey Strait III.

And Harvey’s Making The Country Legend One Proud Grandpa

Every March, the country legend and his family host the largest team-roping event in the country, the George Strait Team Roping Classic, in San Antonio, Texas – where Western sports fans can enjoy watching the skills of seasoned cowboys battling against the clock.

Another highlight of the event is the roping chute auction that happens on the second day. It’s a tradition where Strait or a family member will keep bidding on the chute until they win. Then they release it, and the second round of bidding will start. This is to help drive up the donation amount to the charity.

Meanwhile, the crowd during the 35th George Strait Team Roping Classic in 2017 got a real treat! The country legend enlisted the help of a charming assistant for the auction – and that’s none other than his grandson Harvey.

With Strait and other family members gathered around little Harvey, the adorable boy would throw his hand up whenever his grandpa gave him the signal. You can tell by the look on his face how excited he was, eagerly waiting to raise his hand at a moment’s notice! His grandpa couldn’t help but laugh as he watched Harvey.

Well, it looks like the little Strait already knows he belongs in the rodeo community. You can watch his video below.
