Blake Shelton’s Gonna Miss The Guy

Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine stunned the entertainment world when he unexpectedly announced that he decided to leave his decade long job at The Voice. After sixteen seasons and a number of unforgettable wins and artists produced, Levine cemented his position in the series as one to keep.

But, leaving the show abruptly left the fans and his co-workers at a loss. And, no one is going to miss him more than fellow veteran coach and country superstar Shelton.

Shelton and Levine had seemed to form an unlikely friendship since they started working together in the first few seasons of the iconic reality singing competition. They fell into an affectionate, ongoing comedy shtick that played on their rivalry. It certainly did its part on keeping the behind-the-scenes hilariously entertaining.

The pair would often trade jabs here and there, especially when they fight for a really good contestant but it could be said that the genuine friendship beneath the scathing wit and snarky comments could be seen shining through.

He turned to his social media accounts to express his feelings about Levine’s departure

“Having a hard time wrapping my head around @adamlevine not being at @NBCTheVoice anymore. After 16 seasons that changed both of ours lives. I only found out about this yesterday and it hasn’t set in on me yet. Gonna miss working with that idiot.”

Kelly Clarkson, a veteran coach on the show, also expressed her surprise and her disappointment that she won’t be sharing the stage with Levine.

It has been announced that Shelton’s girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, will take over Levine’s chair for season 17. She will be joining boyfriend Shelton, John Legend, and Clarkson as the show’s judges and coaches.
