Vince Gill Called Off Three Concerts After His Wife Amy Grant’s Hospitalization

Legendary country artist Vince Gill has canceled a series of upcoming concerts due to an “unforeseen family emergency.”

A representative for Gill has confirmed that the singer’s concerts slated at the Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte, North Carolina, last Thursday (July 28), along with the two shows at the Capitol One Hall in Tysons, Virginia on Friday (July 29) and Saturday (July 30) will no longer push through.

The VG shows scheduled for Fri, 7/29 and Sat, 7/30 at Capital One Hall will be cancelled due to an unforeseen family emergency.

Sad to say, the shows are not expected to be rescheduled at the moment – however, ticket holders to the affected performances can request refunds at the point of purchase.

On Wednesday (July 27), Vince Gill’s wife Amy Grant – one of the most significant pioneers of the Contemporary Christian music genre – suffered injuries in a bicycle accident. The mishap took place near Harpeth Hill Golf Course in Nashville, where she hit a pothole while riding her bicycle with a friend.

The singer was immediately taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center’s emergency room, where she was treated for the cuts and abrasions she sustained. Grant was wearing a helmet during the accident. No major injuries were reported and she was in a stable condition. Still, doctors have asked Grant to stay overnight in the hospital as a precaution. She also remained for another night for further observation and treatment.

According to a recent post on Grant’s official Instagram account, her doctors have required further recovery time at home, where she is “now resting comfortably.” However, due to the doctor’s orders, Grant also has to put off her upcoming August concerts – which were rescheduled for April and June 2023.

Meanwhile, Vince Gill‘s next scheduled tour date will be on August 5 at The Ryman. This will kick off his four-night Music City residency, helping the iconic venue celebrate its 130th anniversary.
