But despite the fame, there may be many facts you may not know about our favorite country star.

1. He’s a native of Georgia.

Jason Aldean, born Jason Aldine Williams, grew up in Macon, Georgia.

2. It was his father who taught him to play guitar.

Aldean would spend summers with his father, Barry, in Florida. It was where he learned how to play the guitar by practicing all day – thanks to his father, who taught him how to position his fingers to play the chords and would even map out guitar chords on a paper for his son to learn.

3. He was a regular at local talent contests and even a house band member at Nashville South in Macon.

The band would perform at different clubs and festivals all over the Southeast. After graduating high school, he started to earnestly build his reputation, pursuing a career in music on a full-time basis, with his father as his booking agent.

4. He moved to Nashville in 1998.

The doors opened for Aldean when he met record producer Michael Knox, who signed him to a songwriting contract and allowed him to move to Nashville in 1998.

5. Success didn’t come easily to Aldean.

Various labels dropped his recording contract and repeatedly postponed his recording sessions. While on the verge of giving up being a country star and planning just to leave everything he started in Nashville, he caught the attention of an independent label, which released his debut album. Since then, Aldean’s career has been on an upward trajectory. Jason Aldean songs dominated the top of the charts for several years.

6. He kicked off some of the biggest tours in music history, among all genres.

In fact, Aldean’s 2013 Night Train Tour brought in two sold-out nights at Boston’s Fenway Park – something that has never happened before in the history of country music.

7. He’s close friends with Luke Bryan.

In fact, the two own a hunting gear company called Buck Commander. Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan got matching tattoos of a buck to celebrate.

8. He enjoys watching intense crime dramas.

The country singer is actually a big fan of CSI, Criminal Minds, and The Mentalist, among others.

9. But he’s into romantic films too.

Just like most of us, Aldean can’t resist the achingly tender story of The Notebook.

10. He’s a married man.

In 2015, Aldean married model and former cheerleader Brittany Kerr.

Jason Aldean has truly set himself as one of the biggest acts in country music – and these facts prove he’s one of the most interesting country stars out there.
