On the heels of earning his first No. 1 with his debut single, the Louisiana native shows no sign of slowing down. In 2018, Jordan Davis’ “Take It From Me” was released as a follow-up to his breakthrough hit, and the feel-good jam was just what he perfectly needs to become a staple in the genre.

“Take It From Me” amassed impressive streaming that it reached No. 2 on Billboard Country Airplay while peaking at No. 4 on Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Plus, it claimed the No. 1 spot on the Mediabase country airplay chart. But not only that, it was Platinum certified by the RIAA for selling over 70,000 copies. It achieved similar success in Canada, too.

The Song Has Extra-Special Significance For Jordan

Co-written by Jordan Davis alongside his brother and fellow singer-songwriter Jacob Davis, as well as Jason Gantt, “Take It From Me” follows a man trying to convince his girl to skip the party so they could spend some quality time together.

This marked the first No. 1 single Davis and his brother Jacob had ever written together, a unique accomplishment the singer said felt like a bucket-list moment. “Jacob and I had a dream of having a No.1 song together when we moved to Nashville,” he said.

Indeed, the track was special right from the start. Among the earlier Jordan Davis songs recorded for his debut album after signing with MCA Nashville, “Take It From Me” has even been the singer’s choice as his debut single. In fact, Davis revealed he fought hard for it, but the people in his corner were convinced that “Singles You Up” would be a breakthrough hit.

While they were right, Davis still believed that both lyrically and delivery of this infectious hit was a “little more me.” Make sure you listen to Jordan Davis’ “Take It From Me” by playing the video below.
