One of the prominent Narvel Blackstock facts is that he built an empire in the musical industry with Reba McEntire. The details of their professional and romantic relationship filled the tabloids in the 1980s through the early 2000s.

Their 26 years of marriage ended in 2015. It’s clear that the former power couple has moved on from their relationship, finding peace wherever they are at this point in their lives. At 64, Narvel remains to be actively known as a producer. Here are more facts about him:

1) Narvel Blackstock Grew Up At the Heart of Texas

Narvel Wayne Blackstock was born on August 31, 1956, in Tarrant Country, Texas. His parents are Gloria Elizabeth Alexander and Narvel Leroy Blackstock. He grew up in the heart of Texas alongside his sibling, Patricia Ann Blackstock. He is now 65 years old and continues to thrive in the entertainment industry.

2) Narvel Blackstock Started As A Steel Guitarist

Before he became a professional producer, he started as a steel guitar player. He used to play in Reba’s band in 1980.

3) Narvel Blackstock Has Been Married Twice

Around the time when he was a guitarist in Reba’s band, Blackstock was married to his first wife, Elisa Gayle Ritter. However, their marriage ended in 1988.

4.) Narvel Blackstock’s Marriage To Reba Sparked Speculations

Coincidentally, Narvel and Reba got married only a year after he divorced his first wife. The country music industry was quick to speculate about the reasons for his first divorce.

5) Narvel Blackstock Managed Reba McEntire’s Career

The couple continued building a life together amidst intrigues that surrounded their relationship. Later on, Narvel became the manager of Reba, a professional job he did for 35 years.

6) Narvel Blackstock Also Does Film Productions

Aside from managing careers in music, he also did film production. Some of his prominent stint as an executive producer includes Forever Love (1998) and Malibu Country (2012).

7) Narvel Blackstock Has Six Grandchildren

Narvel has four children. Two of them, Brandon and Shelby, are now famous for their chosen careers. Meanwhile, Shawna and Cassidy remain comfortable away from the spotlight.

Coincidentally, Narvel now also enjoys the presence of his lovely grandchildren including Savannah, Seth, River Rose, and Remington.

Savannah Blackstock is the daughter of Brandon Blackstock and his first wife, Melissa Ashworth. They welcomed their first lovely daughter on June 7, 2002, in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A. She recently turned 18 in 2020.

Currently a student, Savannah earns extra cash by joining horseback riding competitions. She was first introduced to the public in 2002, only a year after her parents got married. As a typical teenager, Savannah is also active on social media with over 5,000 followers. She shares her horseback riding journey in many of her Instagram posts.

Seth Blackstock is the younger sibling of Savannah. He is the second child of Brandon and Melissa and was born on November 21, 2006. Seth is typically away from the spotlight until his step-mom, Kelly Clarkson, lets him join her many musical performances.

Born on June 12, 2014, River Rose Blackstock is Brandon’s daughter to his second wife, Kelly Clarkson. Her middle name, Rose, is the namesake of Kelly’s mother’s maiden name. She was born and spent her childhood in Nashville, Tennessee.

As the eldest daughter of an American Idol winner and well-celebrated country star, River has appeared in various magazine covers. Her most notable appearances include the teaser trailer of her mother’s new single called “Heartbeat (2015).”

Remington Alexander Blackstock was born on April 12, 2016, in the United States. He’s the younger brother of River Rose and the second child of Brandon and Kelly. He was first introduced to the world through a photo posted on his mom’s Twitter page when he was only 11 days old. At only four years old, his name has appeared in many publications such as Today and Entertainment Weekly.

Aside from his well-documented grandchildren, Narvel also has two more with his other kids, Shawna and Chassidy. However, less is known about them.

In a 2018 Pop Culture article, former wife Reba McEntire mentioned that Chassidy lives with her family in Houston. Meanwhile, Shawna and her only daughter, Chelsea, reside in Gallatin, Tennessee.

As of writing, it’s unclear whether Narvel is also an “invisible grandparent” like his former wife, Reba. The country superstar claims this because she only sees them during holidays.

What’s sure is that Narvel has been around on social media, in different places, parading his new-found love with Reba’s best friend.

8) Narvel Blackstock Dates His Ex-Wife’s Best Friend

In 2015, Narvel Blackstock shocked everyone twice with the peculiar turn of events in his love life. The producer started his relationship soon after his divorce from Reba.

The music manager’s real estate agent girlfriend, Laura Stroud, is incidentally Reba’s best friend, too.

As shocking as it may seem, there’s no news concerning any objection from the renowned country singer.

Stroud sells luxury houses in Nashville. Before her relationship with the TV producer, she’s a usual feature in Reba’s social media posts, proving their close ties.

Today, Laura features Narvel in many of her Instagram posts with sweet captions. Her most recent post featuring their relationship shows them in each other’s arms in a luxury property in Cancún, Mexico, on January 3, 2021.

Her caption reads, “Happy New Year to you all! Here’s wishing 2021 has us all dancing in the moonlight all year long!”

9) Blackstock Net Worth Is Built On Music Industry

Blackstock co-founded the music company that managed his former wife’s country music career, Starstruck Entertainment.

With his multiple decades’ worth of career in the entertainment industry, his present net worth value is around $50 million.

10) Narvel Blackstock Is The Father-In-Law Of Kelly Clarkson

As hinted earlier, Kelly Clarkson’s husband is Brandon Blackstock, who is the second child of Narvel to his first wife, Gayle Ritter.

However, the pop singer’s seven-year marriage is bound to end as Kelly filed for a divorce in June 2020. She cites “irreconcilable differences” as the basis of their breakup.

Narvel Blackstock used to manage Kelly Clarkson under Starstruck Management for thirteen years.

11) Narvel Blackstock faces fraud claim against Kelly Clarkson

After Kelly Clarkson filed a divorce from her husband, Brandon, she then pulled in the name of her former producer, Narvel Blackstock.

In a December 2020 Vanity Fair article, Narvel and Brandon were accused of operating unlicensed California talent agents. Subsequently, Narvel’s management firm also filed a lawsuit against Kelly for her $1.4 million worth of unpaid commissions.

As of writing, the public is yet to know the ruling on both claims in 2021. If Narvel wins against the fraud case, the pop songstress is bound to pay his firm a total of $7.3 million.

With all these details about Narvel’s personal and professional life, it’s safe to say that his relationship with his current girlfriend is the one thing that’s going constant and steady in his life.
