Marie Osmond’s children got the biggest news in their lives when the singer revealed that as of now, she wouldn’t be leaving any of her fortunes to her kids.

According to Marie, handing your children your hard-earned money would be such a “great disservice” as you will be taking away “the one most important gift you can give your children, and that’s the ability to work.” She pointed out how most kids coming from rich families don’t know what to do, that they often find themselves in trouble.

Indeed, the singer has a different idea of teaching her children. But how much do you know about Marie Osmond‘s life as a mother?

The “Meet Me in Montana” singer has actually been married thrice – two times to the same man. She was then blessed to become a mother to eight children, with three of them being biologically her own while five are adopted. Here’s a closer look at each of them!

Stephen Blosil (April 20, 1983)

In 1982, Marie married Stephen Craig, a former basketball player of Brigham Young University. Less than a year later, she became a first-time mom to a son named Stephen James Craig.

However, in 1985, Marie Osmond and Steve Craig filed for divorce, citing mental cruelty. She married music producer Brian Blosil shortly after, Marie Osmond’s husband also adopted Stephen.

Today, Stephen has a family of his own – together with his wife Claire and their three kids. He had a brief acting career and followed his mother’s musical footsteps. He appeared in the 1989 film, It Nearly Wasn’t Christmas alongside his uncle, Wayne Osmond. He has also released his own album, That’s What You Get, in 2003.

Jessica Marie Blosil (December 17, 1987)

Marie and Blosil adopted Jessica nearly two years after she was born.

While her mother has one of the most iconic careers in Hollywood, Jessica preferred to live a life away from the spotlight – taking a much different career as a Provo City Police officer in Provo, Utah. In addition to that, Jessica also works as a counselor – helping people “get off drugs and do all those things.”

In 2009, Marie Osmond’s daughter came out as a bisexual and married her longtime girlfriend, Sara, ten years later.

Rachael Lauren Blosil (August 19, 1989)

In 1989, Marie and Blosil welcomed their first biological child, Rachael.

Marie said she and Rachael “are very similar in a lot of ways” – having the same personality when it comes to wanting “to know and do everything.” But despite being her ultimate mini-me, Rachael is not planning to follow in her mother’s famous footsteps.

Rachael works as a costume designer and is also a talented hairstylist. In 2013, she married her husband Gabriel Krueger in an intimate ceremony at a stunning cabin in Park City, Utah. They were blessed with two children, Rocket Jade and Wolf.

Michael Bryan Blosil (May 4, 1991 – April 24, 2010)

Michael was the next child adopted by the Blosil couple.

Unfortunately, he died from suicide when he was only 18 after jumping off from his Los Angeles eight-floor apartment building. Marie revealed that Matthew was bullied to a great extent because of his sobriety, that he decided to end his life. Matthew entered rehab three years before his death for unknown causes.

Brandon Warren Blosil (November 24, 1996)

Marie and Blosil adopted Brandon as a baby.

He has since given music a try, but he went for a very different genre than what Marie was renowned for – playing bass in the metalcore band called Navarre.

Brianna Patricia Blosil (Born November 19, 1997)

Marie Osmond’s daughter Brianna works as a make-up artist. She’s married to David Schwep, with whom she had two kids: Maude Bailey-Moon Schwep and Mabel Amarantha-Rayne Schwep.

Matthew Richard Blosil (Born July 6, 1999)

Matthew is Marie’s second biological child to Blosil – and he’s very musical. Even if he does not sing, he has traveled across the country as a talented saxophonist for his school band – performing at Carnegie Hall and on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and so much more.

Abigail Olive May Blosil (Born September 5, 2002)

The eighth addition to Marie’s burgeoning family, Abigail recently completed her senior year of high school, when several of the schools in the country are doing remote learning amid the ongoing pandemic. So, to commemorate Abigail’s achievement, Marie gifted her with a beautiful pair of toilet paper earrings. Well, it’s pretty hard to explain Abigail’s reaction!

Without a doubt, Marie Osmond’s children are making their legendary mother proud. The singer even admits that all the awards and accolades she has received in her illustrious career are nothing compared to all the blessings she received from being a mother to her eight children.
