About the Song

You’ve got to kiss an angel good morning
And let her know you think about her when you’re gone
Kiss an angel good morning
And love her like the devil when you get back home

The stanza mentioned above is the great advice from Charley Pride about how to manage a happy marriage. However, the song was inspired by fatherly love. Ben Peters, the writer of the song, had just welcomed her newly born baby girl Angela. His wife always reminded him to kiss the baby before he left home to work. From there, the idea for this song came out.
