It’s no secret that the Louisiana native is a total heartthrob. Laine Hardy has stolen the hearts of many ladies, in and outside the realm of country music. But the American Idol Season 17 winner is more than just good looks. His antics and talent could always drive the audience crazy – and pop superstar Katy Perry is no exemption.

Perry was a professed fan of the young country rocker from the very beginning of the season.

Laine Hardy’s Performance That Got Katy Perry Rushing On Stage

Laine Hardy made an extremely impressive journey on American Idol as he became more confident and comfortable on stage with each week passing by – and Katy Perry can’t help but fall in love with him even more.

So, when Hardy took to the stage and set himself free for an exciting revival of Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode,” the “I Kissed a Girl” singer made it even more evident that she’s one of Hardy’s biggest fans.

Hardy took center stage with huge letters that spelled out his name beaming brightly at his back. All three judges – Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie – were on their feet and began jamming as soon as Hardy started strumming his guitar.

They remained on their feet throughout Hardy’s mesmerizing performance, even dancing along to some parts – but Perry did more than just that in showing her extreme love for Hardy. Just like a starstruck fangirl, Perry tried making her way on the stage. Luckily, her fellow judges managed to hold her back.

She’s even having a hard time calming herself when Hardy’s finished singing. Bryan had to fan her with one of their cue cards. “I’m scared,” Perry exclaimed. “It was so good!” Of course, Bryan and Richie agreed with that sentiment.

You can watch Laine Hardy’s riveting performance of “Johnny B. Goode” in the video below.
