In 2017, country singer Joe Nichols released his soul-stirring track “Billy Graham’s Bible” as part of his album Never Gets Old.

The song aims to revive traditional country music, which has been slowly fading through the years. With the desire to fill in the shoes of country legends like Hank Williams, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard, Joe Nichols has continuously produced songs that bring back the old flare of country music.

In an interview, Nichols stated that “Billy Graham’s Bible” is one of his favorite songs as it has a huge traditional country element to it, saying the way the song sticks with the sounds of laid-back guitars just feels like home.

“Billy Graham’s Bible” was originally released in 2013 as part of Joe Nichols’ album “Cricket.” Since it is one of his favorite songs of all time, he decided to also add it as an additional track to his 2017 album Never Gets Old.

Meaning Behind the Song

According to reports, “Billy Graham’s Bible” is a tribute to the late and well-respected American evangelist, Billy Graham, whose live sermons became known internationally for decades. Graham was also considered one of the most influential Christian leaders of the 20th century.

In the lyrics, the song talks about a man who compares himself to Billy Graham’s Bible and how God used it and the late evangelist to reach out to many people. It also mentions Willie’s guitar and how God used that, too. So if God can use Graham and his bible, Wilie and his guitar, then God has a place for him and can use him too. In fact, Nichols said that the song aims to spread the message, “Everything has its place in the world.”

Although the song didn’t land on any musical charts, it is nonetheless one of Joe Nichols’ greatest hits, as it evokes powerful emotions through its heartfelt lyrics.
