“One of a Kind Pair of Fools” Is Barbara Mandrell’s Last No.1 Single

Barbara Mandrell is a one of a kind country singer we have now and then. She is also considered one of the most successful female country artists in the industry. In fact, she is the very first performer to win Country Music Association’s “Entertainer of the Year” twice. With this, Barbara is indeed a standard in the music business.

All in all, Barbara Mandrell has placed a total of six number one singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. From 1978 to the 80’s, Barbara embraced the peak of her prominence. Those were the years of her reign grabbing coveted awards to top charting singles. Her most recognized singles include “Sleeping Single in a Double Bed,” “If Loving You is Wrong, I Don’t Want To Be Right.” Also, “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool,” her signature song, “’Till You’re Gone,” and her last number one single “One of a Kind Pair of Fools.”

One of a Kind Pair of Fools…

R.C. Bannon and John Bettis wrote the words and lyrics of “One of a Kind Pair of Fools.” The song was released in July 1983 as part of Barbara’s album “Spun Gold.” It became number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for a week. Moreover, the song spent a total of fourteen weeks on the chart.
