By many measures, Trisha Yearwood songs are among the greatest singles that have ever graced the country radio – helping her become the biggest female country star ever since she rocketed to fame in the early 1990s.

Within her long-standing career, the Georgia native definitely found the recipe of success that led to selling fifteen million albums and winning countless Grammy Awards as well as Country Music Association and Academy Of Country Music Awards. She’s also a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry, the most coveted invitations in all of music.

With that in mind, let’s take a look back at some of Trisha Yearwood‘s greatest hits that continue to resonate with country music fans far and wide.

1. “She’s in Love with the Boy”

From: Trisha Yearwood (1991)

The song “She’s in Love with the Boy” tells the story of a small-town teenage couple was released as the lead single off her self-titled debut album. When it rocketed to the top of the country charts – making Yearwood the first female artist to top the country charts with her debut single since 1964 – she truly became an instant star.

2. “Like We Never Had a Broken Heart”

From: Trisha Yearwood (1991)

Indeed, the success of Yearwood’s self-titled debut album went straight out of the box. The project’s second single, “Like We Never Had a Broken Heart,” was also a hit – peaking at No. 4 on Billboard’s Hot Country Song chart.

3. “In Another’s Eyes”

From: (Songbook) A Collection of Hits & Sevens (1997)

“In Another’s Eyes” was Yearwood’s first major collaboration with Garth Brooks, which led to winning Best Country Collaboration with Vocals during the 40th Grammy Awards.

The two, who started out as close friends at the time, eventually married each other in 2005.

4. “How Do I Live”

From: (Songbook) A Collection of Hits & Sevens (1997)

Diane Warren actually wrote the song with LeAnn Rimes in mind. However, Rimes was only fourteen then, and her label thought she was too young to sing about the song’s subject matter.

So, they turned to Yearwood for the re-recording. Yearwood’s version of “How Do I Live” succeeded the most on country radio, reaching No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. It was also moving quickly up the pop charts, peaking at No. 23.

Many accolades then came to Yearwood’s way, including Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance, among others.

5. “Walkaway Joe”

From: Hearts in Armor (1992)

The mid-tempo ballad finds Yearwood singing about a young love gone wrong as she describes a failed relationship brought about by an over-eager teenage girl. Amazingly, Don Henley of the Eagles contributed a haunting background vocal on the song, “Walkaway Joe.”

6. “The Song Remembers When”

From: The Song Remembers When (1993)

The title track of Yearwood’s third studio album, “The Song Remembers When,” pays tribute to the power of an old familiar song that can suddenly spark a memory that was apparently forgotten, bringing its listener to a long-gone time and feeling.

7. “XXX’s and OOO’s (An American Girl)”

From: Thinkin’ About You (1994)

Every young woman definitely has dreams and aspirations, and this is what this song is all about. Yearwood tells the story of a simple American girl’s dream of being successful in a man’s world, narrating how she works hard to make it come true.

8. “Wrong Side of Memphis”

From: Hearts in Armor (1992)

Written by the popular songwriting tandem Matraca Berg and Gary Harrison, the song tells the tale of a woman who left Memphis to take her chances in Nashville, where she can make her dream of becoming a country music singer turn into a reality.

9. “Georgia Rain”

From: Jasper County (2005)

After a few years of being away from the limelight, Yearwood came back to country radio much stronger with a nostalgia-filled song that pays homage to her Georgia roots.

10. “Thinkin’ About You”

From: Thinkin’ About You (1995)

Yearwood’s soulful vocal shines through the second single and title song of her fourth studio album, “Thinkin’ About You,” which charted No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.

11. “Powerful Thing”

From: Where Your Road Leads (1998)

Every now and then, relationships need a shot in the arm to get going. Yearwood took that upon herself with “Powerful Thing,” a bluesy, cheeky affirmative statement on a relationship that needed a little nudge.

12. “I Would’ve Loved You Anyway”

From: Inside Out (2001)

Don’t we all wish we could end a wonderful relationship without any regrets? Yearwood definitely knows what it feels that she sings about how much pain the end of the relationship would bring.

13. “That’s What I Like About You”

From: Trisha Yearwood (1991)

Yearwood shows that she can be a strong and empowered young woman in “That’s What I Like About You,” which was released as the third single off her debut album.

14. “Perfect Love”

From: (Songbook) A Collection of Hits (1998)

This catchy song will definitely have you tapping your toes as Yearwood describes being in that perfect relationship that everybody longs for.

15. “There Goes My Baby”

From: Where Your Road Leads (1998)

Dumped by her lover, the woman in the song realized how she took her man for granted that she even called herself a fool.
