During a stop by the Grand Ole Opry in 2017, Scotty McCreery paid tribute to heaps of his idols with an impeccable mix of classic tracks from artists like Conway Twitty, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, John Michael Montgomery, and of course, Johnny Cash.
With swaggering confidence we’ve known him for, McCreery kicked things off with Twitty’s “Hello Darlin'” before moving into a much more playful tune, Travis’ “Forever and Ever Amen.” McCreery strolled around the stage as he delivered the lyrics and nailed the vocals. He then went on with “Folsom Prison Blues,” and Jackson’s country hit “Chattahoochee.”
The talented artists brought things to a close with Montgomery’s toe-tapping tune, “Sold.”
