Ahead of the live telecast of the 56th annual CMA Awards, Cody Johnson received his first-ever CMA Award with “‘Til You Can’t.” The gritty ballad was crowned Music Video of the Year, beating strong contenders “I Bet You Think About Me” (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault) by Taylor Swift (featuring Chris Stapleton), “Longneck Way To Go” by Midland (featuring Jon Pardi), “Never Say Never” by Cole Swindell (with Lainey Wilson), and “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” by Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde.

The news was announced during ABC’s Good Morning America, which also revealed that Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde’s “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” won the Musical Event of the Year.

“‘Til You Can’t” was directed by Dustin Haney and was performed by the Texas native at the Bridgestone Arena during the Awards night. The song also won CMA’s 2022 Single of the Year.
