Lyrics Breakdown

About our Small Town Romance
That everybody’s got their nose in
It’s a Small Town Romance
That everybody seems to notice
The way you smile when I walk by,
Watch the rumors start to fly
If you’re looking for some space
You won’t find it in this place
It’s a Small Town Romance
That everybody seems to notice except you

Based on my understanding, “Small Town Romance” is about a love story between a man and a woman who started in a small town. Their love story has already ended, but the people around still keeps on questioning the reason behind the breakup. This scenario also happens in real life. After a breakup, both parties want to forget the pain they feel. But you can’t help but recall all the good memories you had.

The most painful part in love is when you want to forget someone, but you can’t because of the people around you. They say that the fastest way to move on is acceptance. Accepting the fact that the relationship you had will now be a memory. A happy memory that is forever treasured.
