Kid Rock had news for the people online who were unhappy to see Eminem on his gospel album, and he gave it to them in two parts.
In an Instagram video, he said, “There’s been some people on the internet and what not, like there always is, that don’t seem to be too thrilled about my old friend of almost 40 years, Eminem, doing a song with me on my new album. You folks will probably be happy to hear that he’s no longer on ‘7 Sins.’ Another very good friend of mine, Lil Wayne, is now on ‘7 Sins.’”
Then, in the same video, he gave them the rest of it.
“It’ll probably not make you very happy to hear that Eminem is still on the album. He’s just on another song now, called ‘Heal My Faith.’”
Kid Rock posted the video on Instagram on October 14 as an update for Halfway 2 Jesus, his gospel album due out Saturday, October 17. Eminem is now featured on a newly added song, “Heal My Faith,” and even with that song added, the updated tracklist still totals 17 songs.
He moved his old friend to another song, and he kept him on the album.

Kid Rock Kept Eminem on the Album and Gave ‘7 Sins’ to Lil Wayne
The update followed an earlier post in which Kid Rock wrote that people were trying to get him to take several songs off the album, which comes out at 10:17 a.m. on 10-17.

Kid Rock and Eminem‘s friendship goes back to Detroit, where both men came up in the city’s rap scene, and Kid Rock puts it at almost 40 years. In the album’s foreword, shared to Complex, he wrote that he was proud of his guests, especially Eminem, and that the two of them differ politically and on other things but have stayed friends through it all.
Lil Wayne has stood beside Kid Rock on a country stage before. He joined him on “All Summer Long” at the Country Music Awards, and he played guitar instead of rapping.
In the video, Kid Rock said it is okay for people who do not see eye to eye on everything to work together, and he mentioned another dinner he is having with President Trump and Bill Maher at the White House. In the same video, he put it plainly.
“I just want to reiterate that thinking differently and having the freedom to do so is what makes this country great.”

Kid Rock Says Halfway 2 Jesus Is Bigger Than Him
Under all the talk about guests, Halfway 2 Jesus is a gospel album. It includes “James 1:17 (Jesus is King),” named after the Bible verse that helped inspire the project. His faith-centered cover of Cody Johnson’s “Til’ You Can’t,” with a new verse about giving his life to Jesus, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart with over 3.7 million streams and 51,000 units sold.
In the same video, he said he is promoting the album as hard as he can because he knows how important its message is. He called it bigger than himself, said he knows how many lives it could potentially change, and said he could not be more proud of it.
His foreword names the change he hopes Eminem’s verse can make.
“We hope that sets an example for people who’ve lost friends or stopped talking to family because they think differently.”
The tracklist moved and the count held at 17, with Lil Wayne on “7 Sins” and Eminem on “Heal My Faith,” so Halfway 2 Jesus still has room for both of Kid Rock’s friends.
