When Ella Langley walked back onstage in Lubbock, Texas, on October 10, one night after canceling her Tulsa concert over a threatening phone call, she thanked the crowd for showing up and told them the day before had been frightening. Then, she went into “Loving Life Again.”
She could have opened with any hit she has. She chose the song she wrote about the time she nearly lost herself.
“It got to a point last year where I looked in the mirror and I didn’t recognize the person that I saw,” she told a crowd in March, introducing it. “And I decided that this thing wasn’t more important than me.”
The Answer She Gave on Her Front Porch Became a Platinum Song
In 2025, Langley was having the year every young singer dreams about, and it was pulling her away from everything that kept her steady. She has said she was born with a little dark cloud that follows her around, heavier some days than others.

At one point it got heavy enough that she canceled two weeks of shows and went home to Alabama, to a house she had just bought near her parents.
Those two weeks were quiet, and she has described them as the reset she needed. She read her Bible, talked with the Lord and sat with her family in a way she had not been able to since she was 18.

When she got back, her friend ERNEST came by and found her on the front porch. He asked how she was doing. She told him it looked like she was back to loving life again, and they both heard the song in it. They wrote the chorus right there, and a few days later they finished it with Devin Dawson.
They first sang it together at the Ryman Auditorium in November 2025. She later filmed an acoustic version barefoot on her grandfather’s property in Alabama, with horses in the background, and on the record you can hear her holler “Yoohoo!” the way her grandmother used to get the kids’ attention.
Fans Heard Themselves in It
The song became the fourth single from Dandelion, the album she co-produced with Miranda Lambert and Ben West. It climbed to No. 3 on Country Airplay and No. 21 on the Hot 100, and it has gone Platinum, a million units, which is a lot of people who heard a little of their own story in hers.

That history is what made Lubbock hit so hard. The night after a threat shut down her Tulsa show, Langley told the crowd she had almost canceled again and that her faith was the reason she did not. Then she sang the song about the porch, the Bible and the two weeks at home.
A year ago she could not recognize the woman in the mirror. In Lubbock, after one of the scariest days of her career, she stood up and sang the song that proves she found her again.
