Maggie Baugh’s father has stepped into the spotlight, and his answer to the rumors was short, sharp, and clear.

With Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s divorce rocking Nashville, gossip swirled fast about Urban’s 25-year-old guitarist, Maggie Baugh, being more than just a bandmate. The fire lit after a September performance when Urban swapped a lyric in “The Fighter.” Instead of singing the line once meant for Kidman, he pointed toward Maggie and sang, “Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.”

Clips of that moment went viral, along with other videos where Urban appeared to gesture toward her during songs. Fans replayed one performance of “I Was Born to Love You” and swore they saw signs of something more. With Nicole filing divorce papers days later, the timing only added fuel.

On October 1, Chuck Baugh, Maggie’s dad, shut it down. He reposted one of those rumor-filled TikToks to his Facebook page and wrote just two words. “NO. Just No.”

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Chuck doubled down. “I don’t have any information regarding that, aside from the fact that she plays guitar for him,” he said. He described his daughter’s connection with Urban as “more of a musical collaboration than a romantic relationship,” and admitted he had not heard anything beyond music.

Chuck also pointed out that he met Keith during a Las Vegas show last year. From his perspective, the relationship between the two has been strictly professional. To him, there is nothing more to the story.

The rumors arrived at a delicate time. On September 30, Nicole Kidman filed for divorce after 19 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. Sources close to her said she was blindsided and devastated.

Reports suggest Urban had already moved out of the family home earlier in the summer. Insiders also whispered that Keith may be going through a midlife crisis after firing his longtime band earlier this year. Against that backdrop, Maggie’s name being dragged into the storm was almost inevitable.

Nashville insiders told outlets that the gossip was “all over town.” Some pointed at her as the rumored “younger woman in the business.” Because she is young, brunette, and already part of Keith’s touring band, many believed she fit the profile.

But Maggie’s career is bigger than the whispers. She moved to Nashville at 18 and built a following on TikTok with her “Finish the Lick” series. She released her debut record Dear Me in 2023, a project that shared her struggles with bullying and mental health.

By 2024, Keith invited her to perform with him at the CMT Music Awards. That led to appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Later, she joined his touring band full-time.

This fall, she is set to headline her own Entertainers Heart World Tour. A second studio album is already on the way, proof that her own path in country music is moving fast.

So, while whispers may keep buzzing, Chuck Baugh’s stance is simple. To him, Maggie is Keith’s guitarist, not his girlfriend. “It’s more of a musician thing than a dating thing,” he said plainly.

And that may be the only voice that really matters in this particular rumor mill. In a town where gossip can feel louder than the music itself, sometimes the strongest answer is the quietest one.
