It is such a wonderful feeling to have someone who will comfort you through all the pain. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on because we cannot live this life alone. Furthermore, we need someone to share the pain we feel.

“Til a Tear Becomes a Rose”

Leon Everette’s recording entered the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart at No. 44. In addition, the song was recorded by various artists such as Keith Whitley and Lorrie Morgan, Jann Browne, and Rhonda Vincent.

Keith Whitley and Lorrie Morgan’s Version

The Song’s Meaning

“Til a Tear Becomes a Rose” is a love song about having someone who will be there by your side. The narrator tells his lover that he will comfort her from all the pain she is feeling, and he will make sure that she will forget about all her troubles. The meaning of the words till each tear you cry becomes a rose is when all of her sadness will turn into happiness.

Losing Keith Whitley

This love song may have a beautiful meaning, but for Lorrie Morgan, it may be difficult because she lost the person who can be there to comfort her. Keith Whitley died in 1989 due to alcohol poisoning. Lorrie was away from her home when her husband passed away. In those times, Lorrie was starting to make a name for herself, but at the same time, she lost the love of her life. She lost the person who could comfort her and turn her tears to a rose.
