Even at his age of 66, Strait is still writing, singing, and creating country music for his fans. Now, can you name someone beyond the age of 60 who’s still making new albums?
It may be hard but this is a feat that only The King himself can do. And, George Strait sure knows how to keep it going.
Diving Deep into the Album
The album is titled “Honky Tonk Time Machine.” This is the 30th album of the singer and it contains 13 songs. The album was released last March 29.
Basing from the title of the album, you know fully know the intention of the singer. With the power of music, yes you can definitely bring back time. And that is what the singer wants, to relive the glory days of country music. To hear the fiddle, steel, swing and honky-tonk sound once again that we all miss and love.
His co-writers for the album are his son Bubba Strait, his dear friend Dean Dillon, Jeff Hyde, Barry Dean, Buddy Cannon, and Brice Long. He also recorded one song with the legendary Willie Nelson.
What is new for Strait?
Even though he officially retired from his touring gig, George is still performing for his fans. He is still performing in Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena from time to time. For the rest of the year, he will be performing in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, and Texas.
For his album, he actually included his wife, Norma, in one of his music videos. The singer does not usually include his wife, but in his new song “Codigo,” Norma appears to be dancing. Well, if you can keep an almost 50-year marriage afloat, you should show it.
All good things are happening to The King of Country and rightfully so. We hope that he continues to create new music for the world to fall in love again with the Honky Tonk sound of real country.
