The Robertson family is heading back to reality TV with Duck Dynasty: The Revival, a brand-new series bringing fans back into the world of duck calls, family antics, and Southern charm. The reboot, set to air on A&E this summer, will feature many familiar faces—including Willie, Korie, and Uncle Si Robertson—but one major figure won’t be returning.

Phil Robertson, the family’s outspoken patriarch and co-founder of Duck Commander, is not expected to appear in the new series due to ongoing health issues. While fans are thrilled for the revival, Phil’s absence leaves a noticeable gap in the Robertson family lineup.

What to Expect From Duck Dynasty: The Revival

When Duck Dynasty first aired in 2012, it quickly became one of the most successful reality shows of all time. Viewers tuned in to watch the Robertson family navigate business, faith, and family life in West Monroe, Louisiana. The show ran for 11 seasons before ending in 2017, but its impact on pop culture was undeniable.

Nearly a decade later, A&E is bringing the Robertsons back with a fresh focus on the next generation. The new series will run for 20 episodes split across two seasons, following the expanding Robertson family as they take on new business ventures and life challenges.

The reboot will include Willie and Korie Robertson and their now-adult children—John Luke, Sadie, Will, Bella, and Rebecca—who have each built their own brands and social media followings since the original show ended. Other familiar faces like Uncle Si, Jase, and Jep Robertson will also return, as will longtime Duck Commander employees John Godwin and Justin Martin.

While A&E has yet to release an official premiere date, the network has confirmed that the show will debut this summer.

Why Phil Robertson Won’t Be Part of the Reboot

One of the biggest talking points surrounding the new series is the absence of Phil Robertson, who played a major role in Duck Dynasty’s original run.

Phil, now 78 years old, has been dealing with serious health issues, including early-stage Alzheimer’s, chronic back problems, a blood disorder, and an enlarged spleen. His condition has reportedly led to mini-strokes and caused noticeable changes in his appetite and mobility.

In December 2024, Phil’s son, Jase Robertson, shared his father’s probable Alzheimer’s diagnosis, and weeks later, Willie Robertson elaborated on Phil’s struggles. “It’s hard with the mental stuff,” Willie told Fox News. “It’s hard to determine exactly what these causes are, especially with early signs.”

Phil’s wife, Miss Kay, also faces her own health battles. She recently suffered an injury that has affected her mobility, making it even more difficult for the couple to participate in filming.

While A&E hasn’t officially ruled out an appearance from Phil, his family has suggested that he won’t be involved in the new series. He has also been notably absent from his podcast, Unashamed, for several months, further fueling speculation that he will remain off-camera.

Sadly, Phil isn’t the only Robertson dealing with health issues. Uncle Si, a fan-favorite from the original series, has also faced serious medical challenges. He relies on oxygen following lung surgery due to COPD and was recently hospitalized after a hunting accident.

Despite these changes, Duck Dynasty: The Revival is shaping up to be one of the biggest reality TV comebacks of the year. With the next generation of Robertsons taking center stage, the show will bring a fresh perspective while still holding onto the humor, heart, and family values that made Duck Dynasty a household name.

For fans eager to relive the original series, Duck Dynasty is currently available for streaming on A&E’s website, Amazon Prime Video, Tubi, Pluto TV, Philo, Hulu, YouTube TV, and Disney+.

As for Phil Robertson’s legacy, his influence on Duck Dynasty is undeniable, and while he may not be on-screen this time, his presence will undoubtedly be felt throughout the series.

Duck Dynasty: The Revival is coming soon—and the Robertsons are ready to take fans back into their world, one duck call at a time.
