Relationship Goals: Dolly On Being Miley’s Godmother

We all know that Billy Cyrus, Miley’s Dad, is a good friend to the country legend Dolly Parton so it is no surprise that she would be Miley’s Godmother. Billy first met Dolly on his tour for his song “Achy Breaky Heart” in 1992 and that was the start of the relationship between Dolly and the Cyrus Family.

Dolly on TV

Miley Cyrus, a pop artist who has her roots in the country scene, is thankful for to godmother Dolly. That’s because she had been there for her ever since her hit show Hannah Montana. That is why it would only be natural for Dolly to play as Hanna Montana’s aunt in the show. She is already proving to be a great help in guiding Miley through her start in Hollywood.

Miley’s “Rebel Stage”

If you ever went to a Baptism, you would always hear that a Godmother and/or a Godfather should act as a guiding light in one’s life. Dolly just did that because when Miley hits her ‘rock bottom’ in her music career, Dolly has this to say:

“I don’t think people really realize yet what a great singer and writer she really is. She’s just trying to find her own place and wings and learn to fly.”

This response makes the relationship of both artists commendable because instead of making a snide remark on Miley’s action, she asked the public to try to understand the young artist’s way of expressing her music.

Miley is Making her Godmother Proud

After Miley’s “rebel phase,” she tried to change the view of the public on her. She released an album ‘Younger Now’ that is quite close to her roots as a country pop artist. This album is a representative of Miley’s first introduction to the music world.

Recently, Miley had also been doing tributes for her Godmother whether it be a performance at an award show or a skit at a late night show. Miley’s tone can give justice to Dolly’s hit song ‘Jolene’ and people are loving it.

Unlike other covers that other artists do, Miley makes sure that she performs it just as her Godmother would want her to.

Check out her best performance of the song:

The challenge now would be to find a Godmother who is a country legend or be a successful pop artist to have the same relationship as the one Parton and Miley has.
