In a collaboration long-awaited by fans, two of the most cherished country queens have joined forces together to remake a famous duet. The news was dropped like a bombshell to country fans, making everyone excited. After all, it’s a dream come true. And finally, a music video for “Does He Love You” by Reba and Dolly Parton was finally released on Friday.

In the video, the two country divas belted out the hit song while having a drink together, as they captured the heart-wrenching strife of a love triangle that finds them chasing the same man. In the end, Reba McEntire jokingly said, “You can just have that old boy, I don’t want him,” to which Dolly Parton replied, “I don’t want him either. Let’s find us a new man.”

The brand-new, iconic duet comes almost three decades after it first graced the country radios. Written by Sandy Knox and Billy Stritch, the original “Does He Love You” was released in 1993 as the first single from Reba’s compilation album Greatest Hits Volume Two. It featured Linda Davis, the mother of Lady A’s Hillary Scott.

Reba and Davis’ version reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Not only that, but it also took home awards from the Grammy and Country Music Association.

Meanwhile, the new version – which comes in a different take, featuring a stripped-down and more somber production from award-winning producer Dave Cobb – will appear on Reba’s Revived Remixed Revisited. The recently released project is actually a three-part box set that gives a fresh twist to some of McEntire’s most iconic hit songs throughout her career.

Reba and Parton’s duet will come from the Revisited part of the box set. Surprisingly, this is the first time the two country queens have recorded a duet.
