Over the years, the Grammy Award-winning country music duo Dan + Shay earned praises for their poignant ballads such as “From the Ground Up,” “10,000 Hours,” and “Speechless.” Still, the duo seems to be turning things up a bit as they prove they know how to kick off a party with their most recent single, “We Should Get Married.”

The song is set to appear on the duo’s upcoming album, Bigger Houses – which comes out in full on September 15.

This Song Will Surely Draw Listeners To The Dance Floor

The song was co-written by country duo members Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney alongside songwriter Andy Albert. “We Should Get Married” tells the story of a couple who finds themselves determined to make their love last forever by getting married in Las Vegas’ popular Little White Wedding Chapel.

The song begins in a ballad-like manner, with Mooney singing the first verse. It then builds up to the anthemic chorus that transforms into a fast-paced, fiddle-heavy country ditty as it picks up the energy – bringing its charismatic energy out to play. Indeed, it is a break away from the duo’s usual slow-moving first dance tracks.

In addition to dropping such a fun song, Dan + Shay has also released an accompanying new music video that will take your listening experience to another level. In the short clip, the country duo was enlisted to sing the first-dance song at a wedding but ended up showing guests that they were here to stay and would get people on their feet.

“Everybody thinks we’re just the ballad guys, first-dance guys, it’s so frustrating,” Mooney said in the music video. “I think we should just go rogue and play the song,” Smyers answered.

Dan + Shay has showcased their ability to make party anthems that will have people flooding the dance floor. You can listen to “We Should Get Married” by playing the video below. We’re pretty sure you’ll find yourself tapping your toes.
