With this year’s Billboard Music Awards coming to a close, take a look at your favorite country artists and who brought home the different awards. There were several country artists who were nominated for country music and all-genre categories. This includes Dan + Shay, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, and many more.

Well Represented

The country music industry was well represented in this year’s Billboard Music Awards. Luke Combs and Kane West were among the nominated artists that also performed on the awards night. Kelly Clarkson took the honor to host this year’s awards night.

Rapper Post Malone dominated almost all categories for all genres with 16 nominations. But the country music’s very own duo superstar had a strong showing in four categories that include Top Country Artist, Top Country Duo/Group and Top Country Duo/Group and Top Country Song and a Top Duo/Group all-genre nomination. Luke Combs was also nominated in several categories which include 3 country music categories as well as the all-genre Billboard chart Achievement Awards category.

Maren Morris

The country superstar continues to rack up accolades as she was named Top Country Female Artist at the 2020 Billboard Music awards last Wednesday. Kacey Musgraves and Carrie Underwood were also nominated for the award.

George Strait

Yes, you heard it right, George Strait just won the 2020 Billboard Music Award for the Top Country Tour. This makes the 68 year old country legend the oldest winner for this year’s awards night.

Luke Combs

Luke Combs bagged in more awards in this year’s Billboard Music Awards.
Combs could arguably be the younger artist with a whole lot of potential which he proved when he bagged three awards: Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist, and Top Country Album for his platinum-certified, global No. 1 record, “What You See Is What You Get.”

Dan + Shay

One of the greatest duos in country music history, it was unquestionable to see Dan + Shay win several awards in this year’s Billboard Music Awards. The dynamic duo bagged The Country Duo/Group award and The Top Country song for their “10,00 Hours” which featured Justin Beiber. These were an addition to them winning the Duo of the year in last month’s ACM Awards.

If this year’s Billboard Music Awards was a statement of what to come and what we could watch out for in the country music industry in the next few years, it definitely will be a mixture of some new breeze of artists with the legendary names in the industry.
