Megan Moroney says she has never been on Hinge, according to a preview shared on Instagram.
She still sat down with ABC News’ Maggie Rulli, answered a run of questions built on the dating app’s prompts and laid out the one rule no man gets to skip.
Her one non-negotiable for a man, she told Nightline, is “no girl best friend.”
Rulli spoke with the 28-year-old after Cloud 9 became her first No. 1 album, and the interview was set to air on Nightline on Tuesday night, according to the Instagram preview.

That non-negotiable was only one of her answers.
Megan Moroney Told Nightline Exactly What a Man Has to Do to Date Her
One Hinge prompt asked her to name something she is weirdly attracted to, and her answer was as specific as it gets.
“I’m weirdly attracted to… A guy that cuts my steaks for me,” she said.
That might be the easiest test on her whole list for a man to pass.
Asked the best way to ask her out, she kept it simple. “Using your words. Asking me out with words,” she said. She also told Nightline, “Let’s not cheat on each other.”
She has talked this way about dating for a while. In an interview at the Boots and Hearts festival, she named ego as her biggest ick and asked men to just be nice, and she admitted she had regularly paid for dinners, even when her parents were there. In that same interview, she said she was so single she did not even charge her phone at night.
Megan Moroney Picked a Dog and a Tour Over Dating After Cloud 9
Cloud 9 arrived on February 20 as her third studio album, following Lucky in 2023 and Am I Okay? in 2024, and she has won both the ACM’s new female artist award and the CMA’s new artist award along the way.

That same February, she got a dog, and she has called it exactly what she needed all along, “no man, a dog.”
She told People, “I’m not dating right now at all,” and explained that she was simply too busy. Her tour began in May, and she told Cosmopolitan it was one of the first tours she had been on without dating anyone, so she had no distractions.
The rumors have followed her all the same. Fans linked her to Morgan Wallen and to Riley Green, and both romances have been denied, including on the In the Blind and Call Her Daddy podcasts, where she told Alex Cooper she and Wallen were never exclusive. Some fans have wondered about NFL player Nick Bosa too.

She has said she made “Who Hurt You” so obvious that anyone could google who it was about.
She has also looked past the last show of the tour.
“There is something about having a crush that’s exciting, and when my tour wraps up in October, when I’m back from Europe, I’ll maybe be on the prowl again,” she said.
Megan Moroney has already handed Nightline her dating rules. Whoever catches her eye next will have to ask her out with words, maybe cut her steak and leave the girl best friend out of it.
