On March 17, 2023, Warren Zeiders released “Pretty Little Poison” as the second single and title track from his debut studio album.

The song resonated with many listeners, especially with those who had their hearts broken. As anticipated, “Pretty Little Poison” climbed to No. 5 on Billboard’s Country Airplay and No. 6 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. It even successfully crossed over, ranking No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The Story Behind The Song

Written by Warren Zeiders, Ryan Beaver, and Jared Keim, “Pretty Little Poison” tells the story of a man enchanted by a woman’s irresistible but dangerous charm – like a powerful poison. He acknowledges he should stay away, yet he can’t resist her pull. He’s drawn to her like a moth to a flame.

In an interview, Zeiders said “Pretty Little Poison” is his all-time favorite among the songs he has written. He described it as a powerful statement about pursuing someone, fully aware that, in the end, it may not be the best choice for your well-being.

“You continue to keep going back for more and more,” Zeiders said about the song. “I feel that that’s a story for many people.”

Though it delves into the realm of dark romance regarding a past relationship, the song could resonate with anyone outside the confines of a romantic relationship. After all, we often do things that might not be good for us, and the important part is to learn from those experiences, Zeiders added.
